‘We will be posting on the 7th of each month, and the aim of the challenge is to create an outfit to fit the theme, using clothes from our wardrobes, and yes that does mean digging deep into the depths and finding those long lost clothes! Hopefully one of us won’t end up in Narnia, but you never know with a bloggers wardrobe!’
So here goes my very first blogger’s challenge!!! I’m loving being part of this new found community, and making some amazing cyber buddies, so when I got the chance to join in with one of the many Monthly Blogger Challenges out there in Cyberspace I jumped at it. Unfortunately, with being a blogger challenge virgin, if it appears I don’t know what I’m doing, it is probably because I don’t…. Lol! I hope I don’t waffle too much.
With it being February, and we all know what February means….. Valentines Day, the theme for this month’s Magnificent 7th Challenge is Date Night! I had the added challenge today of it being Wear it Read Day in our office in aid of RedR People & Skills for Disaster Relief, but once I really thought about it, this was ideal as red is the colour of love <3 .
With this being the year I celebrate my 10th Wedding Anniversary (you get less for murder these days), and having a rather demanding 5 yr old in the house, I have somewhat forgotten what a Date Night consists of…. Lol! But I knew if I were to be lucky enough to go on a date with hubby (or anyone else willing…. Haha!) I would definitely wear a dress which emphasised my assets. Not having a completely red dress in my wardrobe – I really should rectify that – I went with this gorgeous piece of apparel purchased, maybe as long as 2 years ago, from Marisota. It is a petite sizing, which I most definitely am, and was from their Arlene Philips range at the time. I love this dress for many reasons; a) I got it at a reduced price; b) It is of a material that when washed doesn’t need ironing; c) It clings to the right curves (albeit some two years later I could probably size down now); d) It is super comfy! Back to the matter of date night, the dress also has a feather pattern on it, with the hope it might tickle someone’s fancy, as well as showing enough cleavage to have your date wanting to see more….. Lol!
With it also being Wear it Red Day in aid of RedR, I did consider wearing red shoes, but I decided to go with these beaut ankle boots I snapped up on eBay just before Chrimbo, all the way from China, as I think it brings a bit of a casual but smart look to the outfit, with enough of a heel that I don’t end up walking like Tina Turner, or have people thinking I have done something embarrassing in my undies. I also teamed it up with a denim jacket to just make things a little less formal to put everyone at ease, after all it could be a first date! I am afraid that you will very rarely see me without a hair flower/fascinator these days, and a date for me would be no different…..The person in question would have to take me eccentricities and all!
I guess really it doesn’t matter what you wear on a date, as if the date is any good by the end of the night the clothes are all on the bedroom floor (I am/was such a floozie), and if it doesn’t work out, who cares what they think of what you are wearing, you are not likely to ever see them again!!!!
Be sure to check out my fellow bloggers also taking part in this amazing challenge, and watch out for my second challenge I am taking part in due out on the 12th!
P.S. Apologies for the poor photography again, I really should get to grips with my DSLR and Tripod and try and set up a better studio environment…. Lol!
