This weeks #OMCZ has been chosen by the lovely Katt from A Curvy Cupcake and this is what she said about it:
As summer approaches and the days get warmer, I’m struck with the fear of getting my pasty white legs and the tops of my arms out. Apart from the obvious rudey parts, what areas of your body do you prefer to keep covered? Ladies, show me those white bits!
For a few months now I have been trying to branch out into plus size modelling. Trouble is even plus size models still need to be a certain age, shape, size and height it would seem, and I really want to try and prove a point that everyone is beautiful and everyone can do this, even at size 22/24 and only 4ft 10ins…. and now 40yrs old!
I set up a profile on StarNow which came to pretty much nothing, but then I happened upon another plus size alternative model, in my local charity shop of all places, who suggested PurplePort. I have had far more interest, albeit still only about 4…. Haha, and I attended my first TFP (Time for Print) shoot on Wednesday…. Eek!
My photographer, Paul, is only a hobbyist photographer, but having looked at some of his pics on both PurplePort and Pure Storm, along with his references, it is clear that he has a natural talent! It turned out that he had also done a shoot with the lady I had met and recommended PurplePort, so I immediately felt comfortable meeting with him, but I did take a friend from work with me as a chaperone as well, and to help me with my corsets…. Haha!
I didn’t think I would be there that long, being an oldie but newbie, and not really knowing what I was doing…. but we were shooting for about 2.5 hours. I started off not showing off much flesh at all, but lets just say that by the end of the shoot there was an awful lot more flesh out and I took one MAMMOTH step outside my comfort zone!
I am afraid that I have to wait for the pics, so there are no pics for you in this post, other than a little selfie below I took during the afternoon before I went (which does have some boobage on show, but this is not unusal for me…. Heehee) , but these will undoubtedly make an appearance in the next few weeks, as long as I look okay, but there has to be at least one good one I would hope…. Haha!
Have you stepped outside your comfort zone recently?
Make sure to check out the other ladies taking part, you may just find some inspiration!
