Ann Harvey Cornelli Embroidered Dress*

I was recently contacted by the lovely Jennifer at Bonmarche asking if I would review an item from the recently re-launched Ann Harvey range.  The range is now exclusively available at Bonmarche online and in store in sizes 16-32 and at prices to suit any budget!

Although Ann Harvey wasn’t my first port of call when it came to plus size shopping, it was a definite go to when I was looking for occasional wear for sure, so when they disappeared from the High Street, I did notice.  I have to say that they are definitely not just stocking your good old “Mother of the Bride” outfits this time round though!

It is always a pleasure when we find another plus size retailer on the block, and although technically speaking they are a returning retailer, it is still a big plus in my book!

I chose to review this Cornellia Embroidered Dress in black, let’s face it you can’t really go wrong with a little black dress, you can dress it up and dress it down to suit the occasion, plus this dress reminded me of the 1920’s flapper dresses, and you know me an anything remotely vintage-esk.  This is a size 24 and was a spot on fit, in fact it couldn’t have fit better!  I am so glad I went with the 24, so difficult as you well know when trying to get the sizing right these days.  As always, it is a little longer on me than the model on the website, but then that is generally the case for me being the midget that I am, but I really like this length on me, so don’t be deterred just because you are vertically challenged and the item isn’t specifically designed for the petite amongst us….  You can only really see the fabulous pattern on the sleeves in these these pics, which is a great shame, but this embroidered pattern is all over the dress with a shift lining, and really does give an air of quality about it!

Choosing the item I wished to review was not one of the easiest decisions I have had to make of late, and I was also sorely tempted with the Feather Print Jersey Dress and the Flower Print Dress, roll on pay day, although I still won’t have enough pennies for all the things I would like…. haha!

Have you had a look at the range as yet, what is your view, I’d like to hear!

This post also makes up my first post for Outfit August, albeit it was Day 20…. Having been spending quality time with Mini Me the last couple of weeks, things have been somewhat hectic and I have been sadly slack in my posts…..
