Yes I know, I said the C word, and we haven’t even had Halloween yet…. but you may have seen these awesome swing dresses popping up all over the place, and when the lovely Ladies at Topsy Curvy asked if I would like to review one, of course I said yes please! I thought I would tell you about them now as I don’t expect stocks to last long!
They sent me this lovely Tumbling Penguins Textured Swing Dress, and at the bargain price of £15.00 it is worthy of anyone’s wardrobe. The material is thicker, as it says textured, almost a waffle effect, unlike the normal t-shirt material swing dresses I have had in the past, which is good for this time of year for extra warmth, but I did find it very short. Remember, I am only 4ft10ins, so although I am wearing it here with tights, I would suggest wearing it more as a tunic with leggings to be sure of keeping your dignity in tack if you are much taller than me…. Heehee! I’m not actually sure I am lady like enough not to bend over and give everyone a bit of a wink….. Hahaha!
I am wearing the 24/26 and I found it quite snug on my arms, and across the boobage, and therefore, also the back. But, it definitely fits, albeit I would suggest if you wanted a not so snug fit, size up if you can. I couldn’t do that unfortunately as the dresses only go up to the 24/26, but as you can see (the camera does not lie) the sizing is good, it just depends on the individual. I would say the benefits of the material in one respect makes it less forgiving when it comes to stretch.
I am very tempted with some of the other designs available via their website, in particular the Santa Hats…..

Topsy Curvy are fast becoming one of my favourite brands, and a go to place for plus size fashion….. I recently fell in love with their Slouch Jumpsuits, and when they were on offer (note, they still are) snapped up several in several colourways!
