‘We will be posting on the 7th of each month, and the aim of the challenge is to create an outfit to fit the theme, using clothes from our wardrobes, and yes that does mean digging deep into the depths and finding those long lost clothes! Hopefully one of us won’t end up in Narnia, but you never know with a bloggers wardrobe!’
Myself and the word “Sport” don’t normally go together…. Even when I was at school, it was almost like the PE Teachers felt sorry for me and on the school report it always said things like “Sarah tries hard….” etc. So when I saw that this month’s challenge for Magnificent 7th was Sport Relief I thought I would probably be sitting this one out! But then last week I saw a very inspiring article in The Daily Mail featuring my favourite plus size fashion supplier Taking Shape!
This is a bit of a cheat, and isn’t exactly delving deep into my wardrobe to create an outfit, but you never know, these could be new additions to my wardrobe very soon, and if that is the case, I will definitely feature them in their very own blog post at a later date!
As the article boldly states, finally, lycra for the larger lady! A dedicated plus-size active wear range in sizes 14 to 26…. Hoo-bloody-ray! Let’s be honest, sport and keeping fit in general hasn’t been particularly fat friendly in the past, and clothing not being available in larger sizes a major issue. But in comes Taking Shape to the rescue of curvy girls everywhere with bright colours (oh I do like a bit of colour), bags & accessories in an active wear range!!!!!! All my favourite things.
Could this be the beginning of the plus-sizes being accepted into a part of society that just wasn’t that welcoming in the past? Let’s hope so!

It’s so ironic right, fitness clothing not being available in bigger sizes. It is a good move, and we are hopeful just like you :) Great post! looking forward to every 7th now!
