OOTD & Review Post with BBW Couture UK!

Hey there Pickles!  Hope the sun is shining where you are!

I’m always really chuffed when I find a new brand offering clothes in my size, so when I saw the amazing Georgina from She Might Be Loved showing off some amazing retro frocks I had to go check out where she got them from!

BBW Couture UK offer fashionable ladies clothing at affordable prices in sizes 16-32, albeit I have noticed that some of the items only go up to a 26, we will get that fully exclusive sizing one day, but as I have said before it’s a very good start and move in the right direction.

Georgina has done a fab job in promoting their retro range, but the lovely lady at BBW Couture asked if I would be interested in reviewing one of the other many items also on offer, and I was kindly sent one of their Floral Scuba Skater Dresses.

(Apologies for the toilet selfies! Hopefully we are now going to get some better weather and I can get out and about a bit more…..)

I wore this dress to work today, and I love it!  It has an amazing bright print, which is bang on trend (also available here in a pale floral), and all I noticed during the day is how swishy I found the skirt (who doesn’t love a swishy skirt?)! I went for a 24/26, and it is definitely true to size.  Because it is scuba material, although I haven’t had to wash it as yet, I know it will wash and spring back into shape straight away with no ironing necessary…… my kinda garment!

If I had to pick on something, I found that you could see my bra through the arm holes.  However, I think this is only because I recently bought some new ones and went for some which came high under my arm (I went for the comfort option).  I don’t think this would be the case if I wore one of my other bras, and I will be trying it with a different one at a later date and will let you know.  Because of this, I decided to wear my extremely old shrug (I think it was from Simply Be a zillion years ago) just for my own piece of mind.  If you have a different bra it probably wouldn’t happen, but if like me you need over-shoulder boulder holders, you can work around it! I will probably try this with my Wingz as well at some point (I very nearly did that today)!  Having a rather large boobage this is, unfortunately, something that happens regularly, and has nothing to do with the garments themselves, it is just me and my girls!

I am off to Curvy Con this weekend and seriously considering wearing this little ensemble again!

I will be buying from these guys in the future, I am desperate to get my sticky little mits on one of their retro dresses!

Have you tried BBW Couture yet?

  1. You know I love the retro dresses, but this is really nice and you look really cute in it. I like scuba material but haven’t got much in it so this could be a maybe for me.
